Hello Professor,
It is so nice to meet you and get to know a little about you. I feel as if i can perhaps related because my area of interest within my history/american studies major keeps shifting. I just love history in general. I really like learning about American history starting at World War I because I am not that familiar with “modern history”. In my opinion, everything before World War I was instilled into us year after year in my Virginia school district. I am excited about the class and can not wait to learn more in this course!

Wow! You have a fascinating story. What was is like growing up near an army base? I have always had an interest in History and would love to hear more about your decision to teach it. Hello Professor!

Throughout my time here at UMW, I have been told many stories about peoples journeys into their careers. I learned that they rarely go as planned. It is very interesting to hear about your path to UMW and how you became interested in the history that you teach us students. It is always good to have a game plan but being flexible is key to living life. I look forward to all that I will learn in this class and I look forward to your responses on my work. I will make sure that I take sometime to look at your research. Lastly, I was born and raised in the DC area and am a huge DC sports fan (Which is sometimes heart breaking). So my final thought is: GO NATS!!!

I find it interesting how everyone has come by their majors and how we change. I originally wanted to be a teacher, I love children. Eventually decided I loved History more, may get my teaching license in the future and teach high school. My daughter wants to be a journalist, so what changed your mind from Journalism to History?

My husband is a native Texan as well. He was born in Houston, grew up in Corpus Christi.
