It is weird that no one can specifically say what it was, but yet they included it as part of the war. Things like that make me think of some sort of government cover up.

Christine, I also had no idea that we had a Cold War Museum. I see your point about not finding the Nelson Mandela connection. I was surprised he was mentioned in the 90’s. After I wrote my project I continued to think about a possible connection, then I remembered in the You Tube video, “Cold War – The Marshall Plan (1947-1952),” they talked about the British ending aide to Greece and Eastern in February 1947, which ultimately sparked the Marshall Plan. The US Used the Marshall Plan to threaten Franc to get the communist threat under control or lose aide. On the Flip side the US and United Nations imposed sanctions on South Africa to force chance from within the national party (The Cold War Museum n.d.). I know it maybe a stretch but that was the only connection I could find.
