Awesome essay with clear points! You showed me a different side of the argument I hadn’t thought of. I assumed the answer to the Communist threat was through use of military force and scientific innovations. However, after reading your paper I see how belief in God and religious worship is a much better solution than strictly violence. Do you think “Red Planet Mars” was originally intended both as Anti-Communist propaganda as well as religious promotion/advertising?
Furthermore, the additional sources you found (1000 Misspent Hours) helped to clarify for me why exactly the U.S. economic system suffered so much from just those few decoded martian messages. Lastly, I think your point about how America prospers more than other countries even in a depression is significantly noteworthy. I pledge (Word Count 125).
