Reading what you had to say about how the choice of what the diners serve and how in the 1950s they chose American food and now they choose food based on their origins made me think of Tito’s Diner in Fredericksburg . I have only been there once but I remember the menu being kind of large and including a vast array of foods both American and dishes from elsewhere. I think going to a diner that offers a vast array of options is interesting. Also you made a comment about the diners usually having to be in places such as old train cars. I believe in many ways that still holds true especially for small family run businesses. In the 1950s I feel that it was more of a necessity to open diners that way and now odd places such as old train cars or old factories are ideal locations because they are different and interesting and such locations will attract customers.

Whoa. I never thought to look at the situation which the groups participating in these services might have come from. I knew that they were immigrants but i failed to put two and two together. I also did the Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives. But I never stopped to think the situations that put immigrants in a spot to open up diners. I would love to see if you did anymore research on this. I was shocked with how much Guy Fieri said that could be seen in the article by Hurley. It was a real shock that the ideas that have been said on a show in the 21st century were being looked at about post world war II times. I enjoyed your thought and I will see you next week!
