    Jeff, I enjoyed that we picked the same project, with two and focused on two completely different decades. I was debating between the two and landed on the 80s (obviously). What made you choose the 1970s?

    It is interesting that the first microprocessor had the processing power of a computer that required an entire room in 1946. In less that 30 years technology reduced a room to something that could fit in your hand. My biggest memory from 1975 was “Star Wars: A New Hope” while I did not see it during the decade ( I had to wait till 82 when it came out on VHS) it is something that reminds me of the 70s each time I view it. For me, it is one of the only movies that stands the test of time.

    All the times I have uttered, “Houston, we have a problem,” I was not aware that phrase came from the 70s. I work for a company with and office in Houston each time we do roll on a call I am dying for someone to say, “we are a go for Houston.” With all the music influence that has come from the 70’s is there any reason you chose not to dedicate a slide. I completely understand slide and word limits, was it anything other than that?

      I did want to include more pop culture aspects, like Michael Jackson’s solo debut album, but limits obviously made me have to be more selective. I was seriously considering a “Sports” slide with the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the birth of MLB’s free agency, and Secretariat winning the Triple Crown. Internationally, I thought about including the Angolan Civil War and Yom Kippur War. Another possible topic was the birth of Microsoft in 75 and Apple a year later, but as you can see, these list could go on and on.
