1. Cameron, I agree with your point that the Vietnam War was a complete loss for the United States as the communism that the U.S. feared continued in Vietnam after the war. There were also many other reasons that make the Vietnam War a total loss. The Vietnam War was a nine-year war with a high cost of human life on both sides. The war left large portions of Vietnam unusable due to agent orange contamination. Also, agent orange causes birth defects and agent orange poisoning that still continues today.

   During the early years of the war, the American public was in support of the war because we were fighting the spread of communist. As the body bags continued to add up and the draft efforts increased the American pubic began to protest the war. It is hard to imagine that we put boots on the ground when the recommendation was one bombing strike. What do you think the retaliation would have been for the bombing strike?
